New, Sized Xuan Paper, Shou Xuan
Sized Xuan paper, the same thickness as single xuan paper. During the make, alum and glue was added in to make the paper non absorbant. It is good for refined Gongbi style Chinese painting. The paper is transparent. In this picture, there is a calligraphy below, we can see through vaguely. The spark is from the mica mineral that creates a more delicate effect.

New, Cicade Wing Sized Xuan Paper, Chan Yi
This paper is very thin and transparent. The calligraphy below the paper can clear see through. This is almost like tracing paper.
The paper was treated with alum and glue also. It is not absorbant. It is good for Gongbi the refined style Chinese painting.

Best Xuan Paper, Jia Xuan
This paper is recognized in the west as rice paper. However there is not any rice content in it. The official name of it is "Xuan" paper, comes from county where best paper is produced thanks for the abundant native grass grows there.
The paper I carry is RAW Xuan paper. It has no or few sizing and absorbant to water. It makes the best blotting effect I desire. Due to the cost of shipping, I carry only high quality paper that worthy the expensive international freight.
Best Xuan Paper, Jia xuan, This paper is in the middle of the thickness of single xuan and double xuan paper, 1.5 thickness of single xuan. It absorbs water/color/ink while keeps its crispiness. The painting comes out more subtle than single xuan, and more crisp than double xuan. It is good for both beginner and seasoned artist,m suitable for flower/bird and landscape. This humble paper is less expensive than double xuan paper since it uses less pulp.

Gold specked xuan paper. The paper is long fibre textured single xuan paper with quite distanced gold specks on it. I like the less gold version since it looks more sutble.

Silver specked xuan paper, Sa Yin Xuan
Silver specked xuan paper. The paper is long fibre textured single xuan paper with quite distanced silver specks on it. It has a little bit more specks than the gold one, but still quite sparsely.

Long Fibre single xuan paper
Long Fibre single xuan paper. This paper is softer comparing with all the other paper in my shop. (However, nother bests the BEST Xuan, 1.5 thickness). The paper is off white. There was not much chemical bleaching in the making of the pulp. It looks very nature, a bit grey, cold tone. You may find it not bright enough. However its particular soft character, long fibre and mild tone brings my nostalgie.

Floral textured xuan paper
Floral textured xuan paper. This paper is single xuan paper. However, it feels a little bit thicker than the other single xuan paper. It is soft and absorbant, with all the good characters of a good raw xuan paper, a better quality single xuan. The floral sparkes looks very much like safran. Such a romantique rendering of art of paper. In oder to stuff into my luggage, I asked the manufacturer to cut the whole 100 sheets of paper short.
